Concrete Dates (Chasing Palestinian Cement), 2021

Cement on spray glue on the wall, approx. H300 x 120 x 30 cm

The Israeli Nesher Cement (left) and Jordanian Cementra Cement (right) are used to print significant year dates in the development of the cement industry in Israel/Palestine (details below). The dates on the left represent achievements of the Israeli cement company Nesher. Until 2021 there has been no Palestinian cement plant and the column on the right represents the failed attempts to establish one. The green bag in the middle is the same Israeli Cement as the one on the left, but bagged in Ramallah for sale in the West Bank.
